Hotels in Hungary

As to the period of January - July the hotels in Hungary achieved a 57% average occupancy rate. The highest occupancy rate (69 % and 65%) was realized by the 5 and 4 star hotels in Budapest. The lowest occupancy rate (41-46%) was realized by the 4-5 star hotels in eastern part of Hungary and the hotels at the Lake Balaton. The number of tourists has increased with 1,5 million in Budapest, during the last two years. Not many Europian countries can take pride for these results. In 2006. a 3-4 % increase is expected. The highest guest-night rate was reached by the 4-5 star hotels. This index compared with the results of the first 11 months of the previous year shows a 12,4 % increase in the field of the 5 star hotels, while +7,1 % increase is visible by the 4 star hotels. Zóna Taxi starts at Ferihegy

The new taxi service was launched at Ferihegy on 15 August, when Zóna Taxi started the operation with 150 cars with an average age of less than five years. Within 12 months a fleet of 200 new cars will be introduced, with unified image. All members of staff have passed compulsory security vetting; dispatchers' desks were also exhibited in the terminal. Other taxi companies are suspicious about the new service, as they say that the prices offered by the Zóna Taxi are far too low and with such fares no service can be profitable.
